Are You Worthy?
"Mjolnir" means "the crusher." Our moderately challenging Metal Earth model has about 21 pieces on two sheets of metal. Assembled, Thor's hammer measures 3.25" x 3.25" x 1.75".
Each Metal Earth model is laser etched in meticulous detail on 11 cm (4.33") metal sheets. Pop out the pieces by hand (or use wire cutters to get especially crisp lines), bend the tabs using needle-nose pliers, and fit them together as shown in the simple pictorial instructions. For maximum dramatic effect, display your model on the LED Display Base or the Solar Spinner (sold separately, see below).
Please note that Metal Earth models have sharp edges and are not suitable for children under 14. Does not convey godly powers
Are you curious...?
Stan Lee claimed in a 2002 documentary that his brother Larry made up Mjolnir, so we're sure it's just a coincidence that the ancient Norse put a hammer with the same name in the hands of their thunder god. The dwarves who forget it accidentally made the handle too short, so it can only be wielded one-handed.
In Marvel's telling, the hammer bears the inscription "Whosoever holds this hammer, if he be worthy, shall possess the power of Thor." Within the Marvel comic tradition, Captain America is one of a dozen or so entities who have proven worthy. In the wider comic world, Mjolnir has also been wielded by Conan the Barbarian, Superman, Black Widow, and Wonder Woman (among others).
Besides having the power to crush mountains, Mjolnir can also create vortices and winds, project force fields, control electromagnetism, emit blasts of power, move heavy objects, and create antimatter particles. If that's not enough for you, it can also track people and mystical items, detect illusions, absorb energy, project images, and dispel the undead. If Thor throws it, Mjolnir will return to him regardless of distance and obstacles, even passing through planets; if Thor sets it down, only the worthy may move it.
