Back in the day, Switchables made individual covers for baseball, basketball, football, and soccer. No more trying to guess somebody's favorite sport: The new Sport Balls stained glass design combines those into one cover that's perfect for any sports fan, whether a child's bedroom or a "man cave." Switchables covers with "SW" catalog numbers use the traditional process with a metal frame, as opposed to the fused-glass "SF" models.
This is not a self-contained night light. Switchables stained glass night light covers are designed to be used with the Switchables Nightlight Fixture (sorry, we are permanently sold out -- clicking that link will take you away from our store). Switchables are "switchable" because you can easily swap any one of our covers onto the same simple fixture. You can also use your Switchables cover as a suncatcher, a Christmas ornament, or with any other kind of light source. To display your Switchables cover in a window, add the optional suction cup.

Sports probably arose out of prehistoric military training exercises that showcased individual prowess while honing teamwork and leadership abilities, back when being the fastest or the strongest or the most coordinated was a matter of life and death. Cave paintings from 17,300 years ago show what looks like wrestling and footracing. The ancient Egyptians are known to have formalized rules for wrestling, weightlifting, long jump, swimming, rowing, fishing, athletics, various ball games, and even snooker; many of the world's most monumental ruins (like Rome's Colosseum and Hippodrome) are sports stadia. The team sports that we know today mostly originated in England and spread throughout the British Empire.
