The Freedom Tower
Each Metal Earth model is laser etched in meticulous detail on one, two, or three 11 cm (4.33") metal sheets. Pop out the pieces by hand (or use wire cutters to get especially crisp lines), bend the tabs using needle-nose pliers, and fit them together as shown in the simple pictorial instructions. Metal Earth models are a little less challenging than our 3D wooden puzzles, but you do need some patience and dexterity because they're also much smaller. For maximum dramatic effect, display your model on the LED Display Base or the Solar Spinner (sold separately, see the Related Products tab).
The World Trade Center is a very easy Metal Earth model. It consists of just 7 pieces on one sheet of metal.
Metal Earth models have sharp edges and small pieces. They are not suitable for young children. They were originally called "MetalWorks."

One World Trade Center, also known as 1WTC and previously as the Freedom Tower, was officially declared the tallest building in the US (and the fourth tallest in the world) when its spire was pronounced to be a mast and not an antenna. It's a symbollic 1,776' (541 m) tall including the spire. It stands near the site of the Twin Towers that were brought down in the terror attacks of September 11, 2001. As of January 2012, its $3.8 billion price tag made it the most expensive single building in the world at the time.
