Bird Kites at Salvage Prices

A severe March rainstorm in New England left a few inches of water on our warehouse floor. Our bird kite shipping tubes absorbed some of this clean storm water before we could rescue them. We threw away the badly damaged ones and dried out the rest to sell as salvage. You will never see bird kites priced this low again. 

Some of these shipping tubes are slightly stained. Most look just fine. Their paper fibers were weakened, so one end might get crunched in shipping. The kites themselves are made of waterproof Tyvek and are designed to be flown in all weather; a little bit of rain water can't damage them. They might show minor water stains, and their instruction sheets might not be in the best condition. Once your kite is airborne, nobody will be able to see any stains anyway.

Seriously: If we weren't so darned honest, we could get away with selling most of these at full price. You probably won't notice anything wrong with them at all.

Assembled vs. Unassembled

• Unassembled bird kites are a good project for ages 12 and up. You'll need scissors, waterproof white glue, and a stapler (none of which are included). Assembly takes about an hour, most of which is spent waiting for glue to dry. The base price shown on this page is for an Unassembled kite.

• Assembled bird kites go together in three simple steps, and are ready to fly in minutes. This is the way to go if you don't like the time and challenge of construction projects, or if your time is valuable to you. Adding an Assembled kite to your shopping cart will raise the base price.

• Both types of bird kite ship "knocked down" in a large mailing tube.
