The third-generation LED lighted cap from Panther Vision has three LEDs to shine light right where you need it. A single ultra-bright high beam spotlight is set into the leading edge of the brim, just like the previous Panther Vision LED caps. This high beam LED is twice as bright as those in earlier caps to deliver the same amount of light out to 15 feet (4.5 m), and it's visible up to a mile away (1.2 km). It's great for walking, hiking, camping, hunting, and all the other outdoor activities for which you've always used your Panther Vision lighted hat.

The Power Cap's new trick adds two standard-brightness LEDs under the brim, near the switch. These low-beam floodlights are angled down to focus without glare on up-close tasks like reading, hobbies, and home repair projects. The 3-LED Power Cap solves the nuisance of aiming the older, single-focus caps. You no longer need to point the brim down the bridge of your nose when you're doing close-up work. Those of us who wear eyeglasses or who use our caps mainly for detail work will appreciate this improvement. 

The switch sewn into the Power Cap brim lets you select just the high beam, just the low beams, or all three together. Four CR-2032 coin cell batteries (included) are concealed in a hat band compartment. They can last up to 75 hours in normal use and are easily replaceable. The LEDs themselves are said to last an average of 12 years. Every cap comes with a limited manufacturer's warranty from Panther Vision.

The cap is high-quality 100% brushed and washed 16x12 cotton twill with piping in the bill. It has a top button and six sewn eyelets. A color-coordinated sweat band has a foam sandwich layer for added comfort. The cap is unadorned except for the Panther Vision logo sewn, unobtrusively in matching thread, into the bottom of the bill. The blank front of the cap can easily accept any embroidered logo you want to add (sorry, but Curio City does not embroider or imprint). These are lightweight, comfortable, low-profile six-panel baseball caps with a velcro adjustment strap to fit most heads.

Structured or Unstructured?

Not all colors are available in both styles. The dropdown list above shows you all of the combinations you can choose. Which is better? It's purely a matter of personal preference. We sell equal numbers of both types. Both types can be embroidered (sorry, but Curio City does not offer embroidering). We don't provide separate photos of structured and unstructured caps because they look pretty much the same while being worn. Panther Vision says that they are all the same size.

Structured LED hats have buckram batting sewn into the two front panels to give the hat stiffness and shape. It makes the hat stand up slightly away from your head, and gives a more formal look. Some customers believe that structured caps are larger.

Unstructured lighted caps are soft and formless ("relaxed fit"). People with small heads (including women and children) usually find that unstructured caps fit more comfortably.

About Volume Pricing

Discounted prices apply to orders of identical caps shipped to a single address. You may not mix and match colors or styles, or combine separate orders, to attain these discounts. Volume pricing is subject to availability -- we do not always have enough caps in every style to fulfill very large orders. Please use our Contact form to ask about availability if you need more caps in a particular style than we have on hand -- we can usually get as many as you need, but it might take a week or so. Volume price discounts may be discontinued at any time without notice.

Cleaning Your Power Cap

Remove the batteries and hand-wash in warm, soapy water (do not bleach). Don't immerse the bill or the head band in water. You can clean the surface of the bill with a damp cloth, but keep the electronics dry! Do not machine wash or dry clean. Line dry for at least 24 hours before replacing the batteries. Don't use the clothes dryer. Do not iron.
