Design Your Own Bird

Disney's Wild Kingdom flew Create-a-Bird kites to mark their 10th anniversary. The Create-a-Bird is the same kite as the Bluejay, Blackbird, and Cardinal kites, but without any printed graphics. Using crayons or magic markers, customize this as any kind of bird you want, or invent something new entirely. What a great idea for a school project, or a rainy-day vacation activity with your kids! Theater companies often use these all-white kites (along with the all-black Blackbird, see the Related Products tab) as stage props, and they add excitement to marching band programs as well.

With its simple three-step preparation, you'll be flying your assembled 28" wingspan (71.1 cm) kite in minutes. Like all of our bird kites, Create-a-Bird is made from Tyvek, a synthetic paper-like material that's both very difficult to tear and water resistant. Tyvek is commonly used for envelopes, car covers, labels, coveralls, and house wrap. Netflix envelopes and disk sleeves are made of Tyvek because it's nearly indestructible and weighs almost nothing.
