About the Patterns

Different backgrounds and lighting conditions make it difficult to show true colors in photographs, so these descriptions might help you choose. Each camo cap is made from a small swatch of a large overall camouflage pattern. That means that no two camouflage caps are exactly alike. These camo patterns look more or less alike to the untrained eye -- you only notice differences when you see them side-by-side.

• Realtree AP Hardwoods Gray is our original 2-LED camo cap. As the name implies, the overall color is a muted gray-green, with some brown. The patented Realtree camouflage pattern is a high-definition design meant to perform in any season, at any distance. The exact pattern that Panther Vision provides changes with each production run. Panther Vision's Realtree camo cap patterns are all hardwoods variations.
  
• Mossy Oak Break-Up is a somewhat more colorful 2-LED camo cap, with more green and brown than the Realtree pattern has. Following the highly successful introduction of their original Break-Up camouflage in 1996, big changes in the printing industry inspired Mossy Oak to redesign this old favorite. Featuring an all-new, computer-enhanced realistic bark background, the new Break-Up design exemplifies a sense of texture and depth never seen on a piece of fabric. With the addition of soft, grey oak limbs and deep ghost shadows for further 3-D illusion, the natural contrast found in the woods comes to life. • The Realtree AP 4-LED camo cap has a similar pattern to the Realtree AP Hardwoods Gray 2-LED cap, with color and sharpness resembling the Mossy Oak.

2 LEDs or 4 LEDs?

Two white lights provide useful illumination out to a distance of 15 feet (4.6 meters), and they can be seen from up to a mile away (1.6 km). The 2-LED camo cap has a simple on/off switch and requires only two batteries. The lights in the front edge of the bill are barely visible until you turn them on. The illumination is focused perfectly for arm's-length tasks, and remains useful much farther out. All Panther Vision 2-LED camouflage hats come with two replaceable CR-2032 lithium coin cell batteries. If you'll use your cap mostly around the house, as a flashlight, the 2-LED version is the more practical choice.

The 4-LED camo cap has twice as many LEDs (obviously!) and comes with four batteries, which means twice as much wiring in the brim. This camouflage cap operates in three modes: just the white lights, just the green lights, or all four lights at once. Green light provides plenty of illumination without spoiling your night vision -- perfect for campers and fishermen. They also look extremely cool when they're all lit -- you won't believe the intensity of the green light. And it's only three bucks more than the 2-LED version? How do they do that?!?

Each pair of batteries provides about 30 hours of continuous operation. The LEDs are said to last an average of 12 years. Every lighted camouflage cap comes with a manufacturer's warranty from Panther Vision, and we test each one before we ship it to you.

Unlike our solid-color caps (which are all-cotton; see the Related Products tab), all camouflage caps are a cotton/polyester blend.

Panther Vision Cap Lights are lightweight, comfortable low-profile six-panel baseball caps with two LEDs built into the brim. These "structured" hats have buckram batting sewn into the two front panels to give the hat shape.

This is the second-generation Panther Vision cap with a pushbutton switch built invisibly into the brim. The velcro strap in back means that these durable caps adjust to fit just about anyone. The cap has a top button and six sewn eyelets. A color-coordinated sweat band has a foam sandwich layer for added comfort. The Panther Vision logo is sewn, unobtrusively in matching thread, into the bottom of the bill.
